Kara advises clients in the areas of general business law, employment and litigation. Kara is licensed in Colorado, Washington and Illinois.
Prior to joining M & B, Kara graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and a Minor in Speech Communication. She attended the University of Missouri School of Law and then went on to graduate Cum Laude from the University of Illinois College of Law in 2001. While attending the University of Illinois College of Law, Kara was an active participant in the Illinois State Appellate Defender Clinic and was a Speech Communications instructor for the College of Communications.
Kara relocated to Denver from Seattle in 2008. Kara is on the Board of Directors for the Humane Society of the South Platte Valley, an organization that is close to her heart because she recently adopted Jasmine, a beautiful 9-year old husky who follows her everywhere. Kara is also a member of the South Metro Chamber 2010 Legislative Committee, a participant in Impact Denver and volunteers in the DU Sturm College of Law Process Mentoring Program.
During her free time, Kara enjoys many Colorado outdoor activities including tennis, hiking, running and kickball. She is also a loyal fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Fighting Illini. Every March you’ll find her back in the Midwest with her family rooting for the Illini at the Big Ten Basketball Tournament.
