The goal of Andy Evans' practice is to help small businesses grow and ultimately reach their full potential. It excites him to use his knowledge of the law to empower entrepreneurs to take their ideas to the next level. He works with companies during all phases of their life cycle, assisting on issues such as corporate formation, capital raising, contract drafting and negotiating, development and protection of intellectual property, and general corporate advising and strategy. He sees his role as a business attorney to transcend simply dispensing advice and to act as a partner to his clients, striving to creatively solve problems, remove barriers, and identify and mitigate risk.
During law school, Andy took advantage of the University of Colorado Law School's renowned entrepreneurial law programs, including serving on the Deming Center Venture Fund--a graduate student-run venture capital fund that invested in front-range start-ups; as a student attorney in the Entrepreneurial Law Clinic--where he advised actual local start-up clients; and as lead Production Editor for the Journal on Telecommunications and High Technology Law (now known as the Colorado Technology Law Journal). These experiences helped supplement traditional classroom pedagogy by better enabling him to understand the common issues and challenges commonly faced by small business clients.
Before entering practice, Andy took a year off to work as a post-graduate fellow for the Silicon Flatirons Center, a non-profit organization started under the guidance of former law school Dean Phil Weiser with the core mission of, among other things, helping connect local entrepreneurs with various resources within the burgeoning Boulder start-up scene.
Prior to law school, Andy served as a legislative analyst at the California State Controller's Office, where he reviewed legislation and analyzed its impact to the department during some of the state's most troublesome financial years

Being a California native, Andy had an easy time adjusting to Colorado’s environment, culture, and lifestyle—especially the mountains, the wonderful people, the beer, and the sunshine. He has always enjoyed trying new things, which in turn led to a diverse set of hobbies over the years such as playing ice-hockey, practicing Brazilian jiu-jitsu, skiing double black diamonds, and hitting the occasional chord on the electric guitar. Despite a career requiring plenty of reading, Andy maintains a steady influx of pleasure reading, with books on his side table spanning from biohacking to Cambodian history to the occasional Elmore Leonard work.
